Ingredients to make Kutchi Dabeli

  • 1/ 2 tbsp Dabeli masala readily available.
  • 2 tbsp kajur imli chutney.
  • 1 tbsp oil.
  • 1 1/ 4 cup boiled, mashed potatoes.
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander.
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut.
  • 2 tbsp fresh pomegranate.
  • 4 dabeli pavs.
  • 4 tsp of lehsun chutney.
  • 4 tbsp chopped onions.
  • 4 tbsp of masala peanuts.
  • 4 tbsp of nylon sev.
  • 2 tbsp of butter.
  • salt to taste.

How to make Kutchi Dabeli

  1. For stuffing : mix dabeli masala and khajur imli chutney in a bowl..If required mix little water. Heat oil in a non stick pan , add the prepared mixture and saut for 1 min. Now add the mashed potatoes and salt . Cook for another 2 or 3 mins. Remove from flame. Sprinkle coriander, coconut and pomegranate seeds on top of the potatoes mixture and keep aside.
  2. Now assembly: Take pav , slit it on two sides. Apply lehsun chutney and khajur imli chutney evenly on the inner side of pav. Stuff the pav with 2 tbsp or as required quantity of potatoes mixture , now top it with onions, masala peanuts and sev. Repeat the same to make 3 more dabelis.
  3. Just before serving , cook the dabelis on hot tava for a minute or 2 using butter. Serve immediately garnished with sev.
