ABOUT Sweet Potato Malpua RECIPE

Sweet potato is a large, starchy, sweet-tasting, root vegetable. It's rich in complex carbohydrates, dietary fiber and beta-carotene. Malpua is an authentic dessert of Odisha. I have prepared Malpua from Sweet potato to make the dessert more delicious and healthy.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Sweet Potato 4 (Medium)
  2. All purpose flour 1 cup
  3. Cottage Cheese 1/2 cup
  4. cardamom powder 1 tsp
  5. Pepper powder 1 tsp
  6. Fennel seed 2 tsp
  7. Sugar 1 cup
  8. Cow Ghee
  9. Water

Instructions

  1. For Batter : Boil Sweet Potatoes and peel out the skin. Smash the potatoes; add flour,cottage cheese,cardamom powder,fennel seed and pepper powder.Then add little water and mix it well.Batter is ready.
  2. In a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp Ghee. Pour a scoop of batter and spread it in small circular shape.Flip to the other side when it turns golden brown color. Cook at medium flame.Continue the same process to make more malpuas.
  3. Sugar Syrup: In a bowl take 1 cup sugar and 2 cup water and bring it to boil for 10 min.Keep it aside and let it little cool.
  4. Dip the Malpuas in sugar syrup for 5 min. The delicious Sweet Potato Malpua is ready! Serve it warm or chilled as you wish.
