Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Water 1 cup
  3. Moong dal 1 tbsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  6. Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  7. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the moong dal in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 cup of water. Drain the soaked dal and put it in this hot water along with salt.
  3. Once the water boils, add in the rice flour while continuously stirring it. When the consistency becomes thick, turn off the gas.
  4. Then allow it to cool. Once cooled, add in the chilli powder and asafoetida. Mix it well.
  5. Take a small lemon sized ball of the dough and roll it on the platform to make a ring shape. Repeat this process with the rest of the dough.
  6. Meanwhile, heat oil in a frying pan. Once it is heated, put in 7-8 rings and deep fry it on a medium flame. Turn it to the other side with the help of a ladle.
  7. Once it is golden in colour, remove on an absorbent paper.
  8. The ring murukuus are ready to be served.
