ABOUT Neer Dosa RECIPE

A simple three ingredients dosa that is extremely delicious with a mild coconut flavour. It is crisp on one side and soft on the other side. This dosa goes best with coconut chutney on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rice 1 cup
  2. Grated Coconut 1/2 cup
  3. Thin poha/ flattened rice 1/4 cup
  4. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice, then soak it in water for 9 hours. Note to save the water from the soaked rice in a bowl.
  2. Wash the poha and remove the water. Grind the rice along with the poha and grated coconut. Make sure the batter is very smooth.
  3. Add water to the batter to achieve a thin consistency. (You can add the rice soaked water here.) Next add salt to taste and mix it well.
  4. To cook, heat a pan and pour the dosa batter onto the pan.
  5. Do not spread the batter like the normal dosa procedure. Rather just move/ swirl the pan in circles so that the batter spreads well. (Since the batter is thin, it spreads by itself and forms a thin layer.)
  6. Drizzle a few drops of oil and cook it covered for 2 minutes.
  7. Serve the dosa with coconut chutney or a sweet mixture of coconut and jaggery.
