ABOUT Som Tam (Thai Green Papaya Salad) RECIPE

Thai is definitely one of my favourite cuisines. I love how simple flavours combine to form the most complex dishes. It's sweet , salty, bitter and spicy all at once! Not only are these dishes perfect to enjoy as a part of any meal, they are also super easy to make. All you need are some good quality ingredients!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 large green papaya
  2. 2 tbsp palm sugar
  3. 2 tsp soy sauce
  4. 1 tsp fish sauce
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 2 thai red chillies
  7. Juice of 2 limes
  8. 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  9. 1/2 cup peanuts
  10. Sundried tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the lime juice, palm sugar, chillies, salt, soy sauce and fish sauce in a mortar and combine everything with the pestle.
  2. Toss the papaya, tomatoes and peanuts with this paste.
  3. Serve it immediately.
