Chicken Yakisoba

Ingredients to make Chicken Yakisoba

  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (cut into bite-size pieces)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon asian-style chilli paste
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/2 medium cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 carrots, cut into matchsticks
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 pounds or 900 gms cooked yakisoba noodles
  • 2 tablespoons pickled ginger, or to taste (optional)

How to make Chicken Yakisoba

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons canola oil and sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir the chicken and garlic in hot oil until it's fragrant for about 1 minute.
  2. Stir the chilli paste into the chicken mixture. Stir and cook until the chicken is completely browned for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add in the soy sauce and simmer for 2 minutes. Pour the chicken and sauce into a bowl.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. stir and cook the cabbage, onion, carrots and salt in hot oil until the cabbage is wilted for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Stir the chicken mixture into the cabbage mixture. Add noodles, then stir and cook until the noodles are hot and the chicken is no longer pink inside, this will take 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Garnish with pickled ginger and serve.

My Tip:

The aluminum foil helps keep the food moist and ensures that it cooks evenly. It keeps leftovers fresh and makes cleaning up easy.
