Bajrichi Bhakar

Ingredients to make Bajrichi Bhakar

  • 1 Cup bajra Flour
  • water as required
  • Some bajara flour for dusting

How to make Bajrichi Bhakar

  1. Warm the water and add salt and a little oil, stir it well. Add in the bajra flour, stir with a spoon and knead into a smooth dough. Shape the dough into 2 inch round balls.
  2. Dust some dry flour on the plate. Start patting the balls into a circle shape by using your palm and fingers to make the bhakri.
  3. On a heated tawa cook the bhakri on a high flame. (Be careful while putting the bhakri on the tava, the dusted side should be at the upper side. Spread little water on the bhakri.)
  4. Then flip it and roast from both the sides.
  5. Now simmer the flame, place the bhakri directly on the flame to further roast it from both the sides. (This technique helps the bhakri to puff up nicely.)
  6. Repeat this process for the remaining dough as per your requirement.
  7. Serve them warm.
