ABOUT Suji Appam/ Tiranga Appam RECIPE

Instant Suji Appams, a quick and easy to make snack with ingredients that are in your home. Appam patra is used to fry the Suji Appam. It uses less oil, thus it's more healthy. Do variations by adding in the finely chopped tomato, grated onion, carrot or any veggies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Suji/ Semolina
  2. 2 tbsp curd
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 1 cup water
  5. 1 tsp chilli and ginger paste
  6. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 1 tsp lemon juice
  8. 1 tsp Fruit salt (Eno)
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Take suji in a big bowl. Add in the curd, oil, water, chilli, ginger paste, cumin seeds, lemon juice and salt. Mix it well and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  2. After this time, add in the eno fruit salt and mix well. Note to keep the batter thick.
  3. Heat appam patra on a low flame. Add in a few drops of oil in each mould and pour a spoonful of batter. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Flip the appams after one side is done. Fry on a low frame on both sides.
  5. Yummy Suji Appam is ready to be eaten with Green coriander coconut chutney.
