ABOUT Sweet & Sour Banana RECIPE

When it comes to vegetarian dishes, there are only limited options which made me think of finding another yummy recipe. Here i have used the ripe banana and believe me no one could find what the ingredient is, some said paneer, potato, etc.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the Marination:
  2. Ripe Banana- 2 pieces, cut into 1 inch cubes (it should be sweet)
  3. Crushed chilli powder - 1 tsp
  4. Ginger-Garlic paste- 2 tsp
  5. Soy sauce- 1 tbsp
  6. Corn flour- 2 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil for frying
  9. For the gravy:
  10. Onion- 1, finely chopped
  11. Capcicum- 1, finely chopped
  12. Garlic & Ginger- 2 tbsp each, finely chopped
  13. Green chillies- 2 tbsp, deseeded and finely chopped
  14. Dry chillies- 1 piece, split into 2
  15. Tomato sauce- 3 tbsp
  16. Soy sauce- 1 tbsp
  17. Vegetable stock/water- 1/4 cup
  18. Corn flour- 1/2 tsp
  19. Sugar- 1 tbsp
  20. Salt as per taste
  21. Coriander leaves and Spring onion- 2 tbsp each, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Marinate the cubed banana pieces with the fine paste of all the ingredients given. Add water if needed. Set it aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Then fry it in hot oil till it's golden and crispy in a medium flame.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan and pour in 3 tbsp of banana fried oil.
  4. Saute the dry chilli, green chilli, ginger and garlic till it's light golden in colour.
  5. Add in the chopped onion and capsicum, saute for a while and mix in the tomato sauce, soy sauce and sugar along with a pinch of salt. Mix it well together.
  6. Mix the cornflour in vegetable stock/water and add it to the above mixture. When the sauce starts to boil, add in the fried banana pieces to it.
  7. Then add in the chopped leaves and let it cook for a few seconds until everything is well combined.
  8. Now the delicious sweet and sour banana is ready to be served.
