Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rawa 2 cups in separate bowl
  2. Besan 1 cup
  3. Spinach 10-12 leaves
  4. Green chillies 5-6
  5. Fresh coriander chopped, a handful
  6. Baking soda 1 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. For the tadka:-
  9. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  10. Curry patta 4-5
  11. Green chillies 2 cut into slits
  12. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  13. Sugar 2 tsp
  14. Water 1 cup
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Oil 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the rawa in 2 bowls for 10 mins and keep them aside. Prepare a green paste by adding in spinach, green chillies and coriander with salt as per your taste.
  2. Mix this green paste with 1 cup of rawa and another one will be white with only salt, add a pinch of baking soda in both of them.
  3. Now grease the tin in which you've spread the batter. First spread the white batter uniformly, then just spread the green batter in it, let the tin cook for 5 mins in the dhokla cooker on a medium flame.
  4. After 5 mins spread the besan batter by mixing in the besan, water, baking soda and salt. Cook it for 10 mins on a low flame.
  5. Check with a toothpick and let it cool till the tadka is ready.
  6. To prepare the tadka, in a pan heat 2 tsp of oil and add in the mustard seeds, curry patta, green chillies, sugar, water and salt, then spread it over the dhokla. The dhokla is ready to be cut into pieces.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve it with sauce or chutney.
