ABOUT Steamed Veg Momos with Schezwan and Sweet Chilli Garlic Sauce RECIPE

Mixed veggies filled steamed momos that are healthy and tasty. A good option for kids tiffins.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the dough:
  2. 3 tbsp refined flour
  3. 1 portion of milk and 2 portion of water
  4. 1 teaspoon refined oil
  5. For the filling:
  6. 1 bowl blanched cabbage, finely chopped
  7. 1/2 bowl carrot grated
  8. 1/4 bowl capsicum
  9. 1/4 bowl cottage cheese
  10. 1 tablespoon french beans
  11. 2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  12. 1 teaspoon finely chopped coriander
  13. 1/2 teaspoon white pepper powder
  14. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  15. Salt to taste
  16. A pinch of ajinomoto (optional)
  17. For the schezwan sauce:
  18. 1 medium tomato
  19. 3 to 4 dried red chillies, soaked in vinegar
  20. 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  21. A pinch of schezwan

Instructions

  1. Knead the flour with the milk mixture and make a soft dough. Now add oil and knead it again. Cover it with a soft wet cloth and let it rest for 10-15 mins.
  2. Take a mixing bowl, first add in the cabbage, now add in the carrot, capsicum, cottage cheese, beans, coriander, ginger-garlic paste.
  3. Next add in the seasoning, salt, white pepper, garam masala and a pinch of ajinomoto. Mix it well.
  4. Now take the dough and make 15 small sized balls. Then make very thin chapatis from these dough balls.
  5. Add in 1/ and 1/2 teaspoon of the mixture in every chapati and make momo shapes with the help of your thumbs. Follow this process for all the chapatis.
  6. Take the steamer trays and grease them with oil.
  7. Place the momos on the steamer and cook for 20 minutes.
  8. For the schezwan sauce, grind all the ingredients together and add salt at the end.
  9. Serve the momos and sauce together.
