Tomato Chutney

Ingredients to make Tomato Chutney

  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies finely chopped
  • 3-4 tomatoes chopped
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • oil as required
  • Handful of fenugreek leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Beetroot, grated
  • salt as per taste
  • 1-2 tsp lemon juice

How to make Tomato Chutney

  1. Pour oil in a deep bottomed pan, add in the cumin seeds and allow them to crackle, then add in the chopped garlic, onions, green chilli and saute.
  2. Now add in the beetroot and saute. Next add in the ginger-garlic paste and saute well.
  3. Now add in the garam masala, turmeric, chilli powder. Then add in the fenugreek leaves and saute it.
  4. Add in the tomatoes and saute, then add salt in it.
  5. Cover the lid and allow it to cook. Open the lid when it's cooked.

My Tip:

You can add whatever you want, I prefer beetroot and fenugreek leaves.
