Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup milk
  2. 2 tbsp of vinegar/ Apple cider vinegar
  3. 2 cups of maida/ All purpose flour
  4. 1 tbsp sugar
  5. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  6. 1/2 tsp salt
  7. 2 tbsp mixed seeds like pumpkin /flax, optional

Instructions

  1. Mix the vinegar in the milk and let it stand for sometime till the milk curdles.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients like the flour, salt, baking soda, sugar together in a bowl, then gradually add the milk and vinegar mixture to it.
  3. Take all the mixture on a board and knead it really well until it combines into a dough. Take a little more flour if you feel the dough is kinda runny, then shape it into a ball and make an X on top of the dough with a scissor (cut it diagonally twice).
  4. To let out the steam whilst baking, add the seeds if using, put it on top of the dough. Put it in a lined tray and bake it for 45 mins or till it is well browned on the top and till a knife comes out clean.
  5. Eat the hot bread with herbed butter or flavoured olive oil.
