Tempura Fried Shrimp

Ingredients to make Tempura Fried Shrimp

  • Shrimp 6 pieces (cleaned & deveined)
  • all purpose flour 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Rice flour 1 tablespoon
  • egg 1 (Beaten)
  • Cold water 1/8 cup
  • salt 1/2 teaspoon
  • pepper 1/2 teaspoon
  • ginger Garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil for deep frying

How to make Tempura Fried Shrimp

  1. 1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix together the all purpose flour, baking powder, rice flour, salt and pepper.
  3. 3. To this add the beaten egg and mix.
  4. 4. Add in the cold water little by little until it forms a lumpy batter.
  5. 5. Add in the ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  6. 6. Now coat each shrimp in this batter.
  7. 7. Drop each of the tempura batter-coated shrimp in the hot oil.
  8. 8. Flip sides to cook evenly until they turn light golden brown in color.
  9. 9. Take the shrimps out of the oil using a slotted laddle and drain the excess oil, if any, in a tissue paper.
  10. 10. Serve hot with any dip or sauce.
