ABOUT CHAKKARA Pongal RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 150gm Jaggery
  2. 150gm Raw rice
  3. 50gm Split moong dal
  4. 10 Cashews
  5. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  6. 2 tbsp Ghee
  7. 10 raisins

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook rice and Dal with required water for 2 whistles
  2. Keep non-stick pan, pour half cup water, heat it
  3. Add jaggery and let it dissolve
  4. To this add cooked and mashed rice and Dal mixture
  5. Add cardamom powder
  6. Mix well
  7. In another pan pour ghee,heat it and fry cashews and raisins
  8. Add the fried cashews and raisins to the Dal and rice mix
  9. Stir well and mix together
  10. Keep a minute or two on heat
  11. Remove from heat and serve hot
