Amla Ladoo

Ingredients to make Amla Ladoo

  • amla - 500 gms
  • sugar - 500 gms
  • ghee - 2 tbsp
  • almonds - 1 cup
  • cardamom powder - 1 tsp

How to make Amla Ladoo

  1. Wash amla and put them in a saucepan along with the enough water to cover them
  2. Cook them on the low flame until they are tender. Once they are done remove from stove, strain the water and let them cool completely.
  3. Take out the seeds from amla and grate them.
  4. Put grated amla in a steel wok along with the sugar on the medium flame. Cook till 5 -7 minutes.
  5. Now your mixture starts thickening. At this point put ghee in and cook for 2-3 minutes. Don't overcook the mixture. Check if it is sticking in between your fingers then switch off the flame. Let it cool down a bit.
  6. Pulse the almonds to get coarse almond powder.
  7. After 5 minutes mix almond powder and cinnamon powder. Mix well.
  8. Now let it cool down completely, grease your hands with little ghee and make small ladoos.

My Tip:

You can store these ladoos for 3 months.
