It is a sweet dish, made of amla and sugar. A delicious sweet, which goes well with puddings, ice creams and all.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Gooseberry 4 big.
  2. sugar 4 or 5 tbsp
  3. Gelatine 1tbsp
  4. water 11/2 cups


  1. Wash gooseberries well and boil in a bowl of water for 15 min. Remove and let it cool.
  2. Make pieces, removing seeds. Crush it with hands or blend in a mixer.
  3. Add some water and strain it well. Add sugar and colour, if you like.
  4. Boil for some more time. Remove.
  5. In the mean time, dissolve gelatine in a little water. keep for some time till it dissolves. Add hot water or if needed. heat it till it becomes a thick syrup. Add to the gooseberry mixture.
  6. Put it in moulds or small bowl. it will become thick even at room temperature. Keep for some hours.
  7. Amla jelly is ready.
