ABOUT Tomato Jaggery Chutney RECIPE

It is a very yummy chutney that can be made at home to eat with pakora and any kind of parantha.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Tomato 500 gm
  2. Jaggery 300 gm
  3. Panchforan(cumin seed,mustard,black cumin,fenugreek,fennel) 1 tsp
  4. Mustard Oil 1 Tbsp
  5. Cornflour powder 1 tsp
  6. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  7. Paste of green chillies,garlic and ginger paste 1 tsp
  8. Salt 1 tsp
  9. Raisins 1 tbsp(optional)
  10. Dry Chopped coconut 1 tsp(optional)

Instructions

  1. Boiled the tomatoes. On cooling peel and grind it in the mixer
  2. Now heat oil in the kadhai and add panchforan. When it begins to crackle, add the paste of chillies, ginger, garlic
  3. Now add the pureed tomato and add jaggery
  4. Saute it for few minutes
  5. When jaggery dissolves, add salt
  6. Cover it and Cook for a few minutes
  7. At last add raisins and lemon juice
  8. Turn off the heat.Spread the Chopped coconut and serve it with parantha or with anything you want

I love khatti meethi chutney...specially with parathas...yummy
