ABOUT Garlic Rice RECIPE

Garlic rice is quick to make. It is a healthy and easy recipe for busy mornings.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Boiled rice- 1 cup.
  2. Cumin /Zeera - 1/2 tsp.
  3. Coconut oil or refined oil - 2 tsp.
  4. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  5. Curry leaves - few
  6. Channa dal - 1/2 tsp
  7. Urad dal - 1/2 tsp.
  8. Salt as required.
  9. To roast and grind -
  10. Garlic pods - 8 to 9 pods.
  11. Dry red chillies to 4 pieces
  12. Coconut - 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Boil rice with required water and once boiled empty the rice to q big bowl and plough it with a fork.
  2. In a pan add a tsp of coconut oil and add the roasting ingredients garlic, red chillies and coconut and fry till the garlic turns slightly brown, Then remove from flame and grind them to a coarse powder.
  3. In the same pan add 2 tsp of oil and when it gets heated add mustard. When it splutters add cumin followed by channa dal , urad dal , curry leaves and switch off once everything gets sauteed well.
  4. Add the sauteed ingredients and ground powder to the boiled rice, add required salt and mix well and serve.
  5. Garlic Rice is ready. Healthy yet easy.
