ABOUT Curry Leaves Powder RECIPE

Learned from my beloved mother who likes such home and hand made powders which are healthy and easy to prepare

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Curry Leaves 1 Cup
  2. Dry chillies- 12
  3. Urad Dal 1 Tablespoon
  4. Zeera 2 Tablespoons
  5. Coriander seed (Dhania) 2 table spoons
  6. Garlic 4 bulbs
  7. Tamarind bulbs 10 gms
  8. Cooking Oil 1 Table spoon
  9. Salt to taste
  10. a little Turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. Clean the Curry leaves and dry for 5 Mts on a piece of cloth. Put pressure pan on the Gas stove, light the gas in sim and pour one table spoon oil into the pan, allow the oil to get heated ( say for 2 minutes).
  2. After oil heated put chillies, urad dal , zeera, dhania, garlic and fry for 3 mts to ensure not to over fry and place in a bowl from pan
  3. Put another table spoon of oil in pan and heat for 1 minute, put dried curry leaves and fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Take mixi jar and put fried curry leaves and other ingredients from bowl, add tamarind, salt and turmeric and grind till it becomes powder
  5. Serve it with hot Idly and hot rice with ghee over it which leaves a sumptuous taste
