ABOUT Steamed and Stuffed Bread Rings RECIPE

It is a different kind of rings which are stuffed with the goodness of moong sproust and potatoes .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 8 bread slices
  2. 2 medium size onions
  3. 2 cups besan
  4. 2 medium size boiled potatoes
  5. 1/2 cup soaked moong sprouts
  6. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 1 tsp garam masala
  8. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  9. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1 green chilli chopped
  11. 1 tbsp oil
  12. 1/2 tsp sugar
  13. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take 1 medium size chopped onion and fry it in 1/2 tbsp oil add boiled and mashed potatoes
  2. Now grind the sprouts in a mixer and add to the mixture.
  3. Add red chilli powder, salt and fry the filling till light brown colour.Keep aside.
  4. Remove the sides of bread slices
  5. Roll out the slices as thin as possible with a rolling pin
  6. Spread the filling over it. Roll it from one side to the other
  7. Press it so that the filling doesn't come out
  8. Make a thick batter of besan,turmeric powder and salt
  9. Grease a perforated plate
  10. Now boil water in big container
  11. Dip the rolled bread in the batter so that a fine cover of besan spreads over it and carefully place it on perforated plate
  12. Keep the plate on the container with boiling water. Cover it with another plate for 10 minutes
  13. Turn off the flame after checking the besan for doneness
  14. On cooling cut the roll into thick slices
  15. Now chop the remaining onion
  16. Heat oil in kadhai and add cumin seeds, green chilli and onion
  17. Add the slices in it.
  18. Fry it on low flame
  19. Add garam masala, red chilli powder, sugar and salt
  20. Fry bread rings till they become crisp
  21. Serve with ketchup or pack in your lunch box
