Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Aval(Poha) - 2 cup
  2. cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  3. jaggery - 1 cup
  4. coconut - 2 tbsp
  5. cashews - 10 broken (ghee fried)
  6. ghee -2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
  7. Water - 1/2 cup(for jaggery syrup) + as required(to cook poha)


  1. Dry roast the poha in a kadai till it turns light brown.
  2. Cool and grind it to a fine powder
  3. In another vessel, put the jaggery and add ¼ cup water and bring to boil. Remove and strain the jaggery water with a filter to remove to dust in jaggery.
  4. Sprinkle little water to the grinded poha to make it little soft.
  5. In low flame,add the jaggery water,and poha
  6. Add grated coconut and ghee fried cashews.Ready to serve
