ABOUT Nankhatai RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 80-100ml ghee (clarified butter)
  2. 50g crushed almonds
  3. 100g All purpose flour
  4. 100g wheat flour
  5. 120-150g of powdered sugar
  6. Some slivered almonds for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Sieve the all purpose and wheat flour in a bowl.
  2. Sieve the powdered sugar too. Start with 120g. Adjust the sweetness later according to your preference.
  3. Add the crushed almonds.
  4. Start by adding 50ml ghee and keep increasing the quantity till you get a good dough that doesn't stick on your hand but doesn't fall apart either.
  5. Preheat the oven at 150°C. Line the baking tray with baking sheets. Grease it lightly.
  6. Make small balls of the dough. Place on the tray. Press in slivered almonds onto the top.
  7. Bake at 150°C for 15 minutes and at 180°C for another 15 minutes or till the top browns.
  8. Let it cool for at least 15 minutes. Serve with tea or coffee.
