ABOUT Colourful Mini Idlis RECIPE

Children are fussy eaters. They want to eat something attractive and good looking all the time and we as mothers like to give them something healty. This recipe of mine is combination of both. Learnt from a friend of mine few years ago and since then making it quiet often.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rava 1 cup
  2. Curd 3/4 cup.
  3. water 1/4 cup
  4. Eno 1 sachet
  5. Salt
  6. Sliced onion 1/2 cup
  7. Finely Sliced carrot 1/2 cup
  8. Sliced capsicum 1/2 cup
  9. Curry leaves few
  10. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  11. Oil 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Mix rava, water ,curd and salt and keep it for 10 minutes
  2. Add eno to the batter and pour in the idli mould
  3. Steam the idlis for about 10 min /until done.
  4. Take out idlis from mould and keep aside
  5. Take a pan, add oil and then mustard seeds.
  6. After mustard seeds splutter add curry leaves.
  7. Then add onions,carrot and capsicum and saute it for about 5 mins. The vegetable shouldn't become very soft.
  8. Then add idlis to it.
  9. Keep the pan covered on low flame for about 2-3 mins. Idlis will be done by then
  10. Serve with ketchup or mint chutney. Also it tastes good all by itself too!

I tried this idly today. This recipe is so simple, at the same time it is very yummy. Idlies were so soft. It was delicious. Thank for superb recipe.
