Kadhai Paneer

Ingredients to make Kadhai Paneer

  • 200gm paneer
  • lemon juice 1/2
  • 2 capsicums,1 Tomato -cut into thin fingers
  • 1 dry red chilli-deseeded
  • 1 tsp saboot dhania(coriander seeds)
  • 5Ttbsp oil
  • A pinch of methi daana(fenugreek seeds)
  • 2 onions-chopped
  • 2tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 tomatoes-blanched and chopped
  • 1/2cup readymade tomato puree
  • 1 1/4tsp salt,or to taste
  • 1tbsp kasoori methi(dry fenugreek leaves)
  • 1/4 tsp haldi
  • 1/2 garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp amchoor
  • 2tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1/2piece ginger shredded - 1 tsp

How to make Kadhai Paneer

  1. Warm red chilles and saboot dhania on a tawa,till slightly crisp and dry, for about 30 seconds.
  2. Grind red chillies and saboot dhania to a coarse powder.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add the paneer. Pan fry for 4-5 minutes till pieces start turning brown. Keep them in a plate. Add the capsicum strips and stir for 2 minutes.Remove from kadai and keep aside.
  4. Heat 3tbsp oil in a kadhai.remove from the heat . Add a pinch of methi daana,dhania-red chilli powder. Stir for 30 seconds
  5. Return to fire add onion cook till onions turn light golden,add garlic ginger paste.mix well
  6. Add tomatoes and tomato puree.stir for about 4-5 minutes on low heat till dry
  7. Add salt,kasoori methi,haldi,garam masala and amchoor.
  8. Add fresh coriander.mix well till oil separates.add 1/2 cup water.let it boil.remove from fire and keep aside till serving time.
  9. At the time of serving,add paneer,tomatoes and capsicum.cook for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Serve hot topped with shredded ginger.
