Peas Carrot Pulao

Ingredients to make Peas Carrot Pulao

  • Basmati rice – 1-1/2 cup
  • Peas and carrot-1/4 cup
  • onion finely sliced (large) -1
  • Slit Green chilies - 2
  • ginger-Garlic paste -¼ tsp
  • Chopped coriander and mint leaves a little
  • lime juice from half a lime
  • Oil and ghee both mixed 1- ½ half tbsp
  • water as required
  • salt to taste
  • cumin seeds - a pinch
  • cardamom - 1
  • clove -1
  • Small bay leaf -1 piece
  • cinnamon -1 very small stick
  • pepper corns - 3

How to make Peas Carrot Pulao

  1. Wash and soak the Basmati rice as per instructions
  2. Heat oil and ghee in a pan then add cardamom, clove, small bay leaf, cinnamon, pepper corns and then add onions, once the onions are slightly golden add in the cumin seeds, green chili and ginger garlic paste then add mix well till the raw
  3. Then add the peas and carrot and mix well and add little water and salt and let it cook for some time.
  4. Once they are soft and oil leaves the sides, add in the soaked rice, chopped coriander and mint leaves and water as required and lemon juice to it and check for salt cook till done.
  5. Serve with Burani Raita and roasted papad

My Tip:

Use fresh peas and check for the quality of Basmati Rice and add water as required
