Marinate the chicken in curd, chili powder, turmeric and salt. The longer the marination the better is the taste.
Make a paste of the soaked cashews in milk. Keep aside.
In a deep sauce pan, add in the oil. Add in the chopped onions and saute till pinkish brown in texture.
Add ginger garlic paste and continue cooking on a medium flame.
Add in the coriander powder, black pepper and cumin powder.
Add in the chopped tomato and let it cook for a few minutes.
As soon as the oil separates turn off the heat and cool. Grind and keep aside.
In the same deep sauce pan, add in 1 tbsp of oil and add in the marinated chicken.
Cover and let it cook for 5 minutes, add in the grounded spices along with the cashew paste.
Cook for another 5 minutes then add in the blended gravy.
Add water as per the gravy requirement. I added 1 cup.
Cook covered till the chicken pieces are tender. Add salt.
Serve with a garnish of lemon wedges, fresh coriander and twig of parsley.

For the chicken Marinade: 3 Tbsp - curd
chicken washed and cut - 1/2 kg
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp (as per taste)
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
salt to taste
For the Gravy Paste : Soaked cashes 6 - 7 in 1/2 cup of milk
Freshly grounded spices : cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 10 to 12
cloves - 3
3 - 4 Tbsp - oil (as per choice)
onions large - 2 (finely chopped)
tomato - 1 (large and chopped)
ginger garlic paste 2 tsp (home made)
coriander powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder - 3 to 4 tsp (adjust as per taste)
cumin powder - 2 tsp
Lemon fresh coriander and parsley for garnishing
