ABOUT Whole Masoor Usal RECIPE

Usal is a Maharastrian dish made with beans. Most of the time if the beans are dry, we soak in water and allow to sprout. Its very healthy & yummy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. whole Masoor 1 cup
  2. onion 1 medium
  3. Oil 2 tsp
  4. Asafoetida ¼ tsp
  5. Turmeric Powder ¼ Tsp
  6. Red Chili Powder 1 Tsp
  7. Garam masala 1 tsp
  8. Ginger Garlic & coriander paste 2tbsp
  9. salt to taste
  10. chopped coriander 2 tbsp for garnishing.

Instructions

  1. Soak 1 cup Masoor for 2 to 3 hours in water.Now drain the water . keep aside.
  2. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, add chopped onion cooked it till it gest transparent .
  3. Then add ginger garlic coriander paste, Asafoetida , Turmeric Powder, Red chili Powder, now add salt.
  4. Now add Soked Masoor cover the pan with lid & cook with medium flame.
  5. Do not add water. It has to cook on steam. Saute in between.
  6. Once masoor is cooked, garnish with coriander. Serve hot with roti
