Punjabi Chole Masala

Ingredients to make Punjabi Chole Masala

  • Chole 1/2 cup
  • onions 2 bolied , Onion 1 Chopped
  • tomato 3 blanched
  • haldi powder 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder -1/2 tsp
  • chole masala -1 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • annardana powder -1tsp
  • cinnamon stick 1
  • bay leaf 1
  • oil 1/2 tbsp
  • coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Punjabi Chole Masala

  1. Soak chole in water for 6 hours .
  2. Now take boiled onion and make a paste.
  3. Puree tomatoes
  4. Cook the chole in a cooker with cinnamon stick, bay leaf and salt for 5 whistles.
  5. Heat oil in a kadai and add dry annardana and one chopped onion.
  6. Saute it till it becomes slightly brown and translucent.
  7. Now add ginger garlic paste and saute for 5 minutes, then add onion -tomato puree .
  8. Add haldi,chole masala and chili powder then cook over low heat until the raw smell goes and till oil separates.
  9. Now seasoning with salt and cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  10. Finally, add chole and cook for another 5 minutes over medium heat and turn off the stove.Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon. serve with puri and enjoy.

My Tip:

if you like tangier add amchur powder.
