A tangy,yummilicious,finger licking fish curry which goes well with rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rohu/Catla fish - 1kg
  2. Tamarind- 100g
  3. Onions-2 medium sized
  4. Green chillies-4
  5. Tomatoes -3
  6. Oil-3 table spoons
  7. Red chilly powder - 3 tbsp
  8. Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
  9. Jeera powder - 1/2 tbsp
  10. Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
  11. Garlic pod -1
  12. Jeera- 1/2 tbsp
  13. Coriander-1/2 bunch
  14. Coarse salt- as per your taste

Instructions

  1. Start by chopping onions and slitting green chillies into two. Soak tamarind in water for 10 mins.
  2. Heat oil in a wide bottomed pan. Add onions and green chillies. Saute till onions turn translucent.
  3. Add red chilly powder, salt, coriander powder, jeera powder and turmeric powder.
  4. Now add tamarind water, let it boil and then add the fish pieces. Add water till the pieces get covered.
  5. After 10 min on a high flame add a paste of garlic and jeera ground together. Simmer for 5 mins.
  6. Garnish with coriander and fresh green chilly.
