ABOUT Upma RECIPE

Simple snacks but absolutely perfect if you are starving. Quick and easy to make.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Semolina 1 cup
  2. Butter milk 1 glass
  3. White urad daal 2 tbs
  4. Chopped onion 1
  5. Chopped tomato 1
  6. Chopped green chilli 4-5
  7. Fresh coriander leaves 2 tbs
  8. Curry pata 7/8 leaves
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  11. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  12. Oil or ghee 2 tbs

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and roast semolina for 5 minutes and keep aside.
  2. Now in kadai add ghee or oil.
  3. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and crackle it.
  4. Add curry patta and asafoetida. Add urad daal.
  5. Cook till the daal becomes golden.
  6. Add onions, tomatoes, green chillies and saute for 5-7 min.
  7. Now add semolina and salt .Then roast it again.
  8. Add buttermilk and mix well till they become a thick loaf. Mix for another 5 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with garlic chatni as your choice.
