ABOUT Sabudana Vada RECIPE

Deep fried pattice made of sago/sabudana. This is commonly used while fasting.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sabudana/sago 1 cup (150 gms)
  2. Boiled potatoes 2 medium sized
  3. Coarsely ground roasted peanuts 3 tbsp
  4. Upwas bhajani 2 tbsp
  5. Chopped coriander leaves 1/2 cup
  6. Jeera/Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
  7. Chopped Green Chillies 1-2
  8. Grated ginger 1 tsp
  9. Rock Salt/Senda namak
  10. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  11. Sugar 1 tsp
  12. Ghee/Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak sabudana for 4-5 hrs in sufficient water.
  2. Mash boiled potatoes.
  3. Mix together sabudana , mashed potatoes, peanut powder, bhajani, green chillies, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, ginger, salt and sugar. Mix well.
  4. Apply some oil /ghee on your palm. Take some portion from the mixture.
  5. Make round balls and flatten it with your palms.
  6. Deep fry in ghee /oil till crispy.
  7. Serve hot with green chutney.
