Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Apples peeled and cut into roundels like doughnuts
  2. Refined flour 1cup
  3. Water 1/2 cup
  4. Ramdaana or amaranth popped seeds 1cup
  5. For frying -Desi ghee 1cup
  6. For sugar syrup - sugar 4cups
  7. Cinnamon stick 1
  8. Water 1cup
  9. Red wine 1cup (optional)

Instructions

  1. For sugar syrup - heat water with cinnamon stick and sugar .
  2. Boil this solution till it becomes a single string sugar syrup and keep it aside.
  3. Now add water with flour to make a smooth, thick and lump less batter.
  4. Heat up the Desi ghee in a pan used for deep frying
  5. Now coat the apple roundles with batter like I did in picture.
  6. Fry these roundels in already heated oil turning both the sides to make it golden brown.
  7. Dip directly into sugar syrup allowing these roundles to soak the sweetness.
  8. Finally coat these sweeties with popped Ramdaana or amaranth seeds.
  9. Repeat till all your roundels are done.
  10. Serve hot with chilled red wine. You may avoid red wine but I love to have this way as red wine gives a balance to this recipe - A little sweet and a little sour.
