ABOUT Italian Struffoli RECIPE

Struffoli is to Italian as khajoor or lauz is to Hyderabadi. Very simple and easy to make. They are just like mini khajoor or lauz. Absolutely melt in mouth super duper delicious snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour 1 cup
  2. Sugar 3 tbsp
  3. Egg 1
  4. Vanilla extract 1 tsp
  5. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  6. lemon zest 1/2 tsp
  7. Orange Zest 1/2 tsp
  8. Butter 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Make a smooth dough combining all the ingredients.
  2. Cover and let it rest for an hour.
  3. Roll the dough and make thin logs as seen. Cut very small pieces as shown.
  4. Heat the oil on medium flame and deep fry them.
  5. Deep fry them few at a time on medium to high flame.
  6. Coat them all over with honey and serve them immediately.
