Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Grated coconut 1/2cup
  2. Powered jaggery
  3. Cardamom power or pods crushed
  4. Rice flour
  5. Milk 1 litre
  6. Condensed milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. For the filling -
  2. Take a tbsp of ghee in a wide bottomed vessel. Add grated coconut and switch on the flame. Slowly add the Jaggery and a pinch of cardamom powder. Keep on a low flame till 5-7 mins, till it comes together. Can add condensed milk for a thickness ( optional )
  3. For the outer cover -puli Make a soft dough out of rice flour Take a small round size ball and open it up for the filling Add the coconut filling and seal the sides. Give it a conch shell shape
  4. Take 1 litre milk, boil it to reduce to 3/4 Gently drop the puli shells intp the milk Add pinch of cardamom powder Let it cook for 10 mins on low flame Keep stirring from time to time After 10mins add 3 tbsp powdered sugar Keep stirring for another 3-4 mins Lastly add 2 tbsp powdered jaggery One last swirl for 3 mins and the puli pithe are some Serve hot or cold
