Palak Paneer

Ingredients to make Palak Paneer

  • 2 bunches of spinach cleaned and washed
  • 1/2 cup paneer cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cream
  • 8-10 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 big onion chopped
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 4-5 green chillies
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 2 tbsp ghee

How to make Palak Paneer

  1. Clean and wash spinach. Cook spinach, garlic cloves, ginger and green chillies and a little salt in a pressure cooker for one whistle. Drain in a strainer.
  2. Immediately transfer drained spinach into cold water and keep for a minute. Drain excess water and transfer blanched spinach and ginger garlic chillies to the jar of a mixer grinder and grind to a fine paste
  3. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a non-stick pan or kadai over medium flame. Add paneer cubes and shallow fry them until the sides turn light brown. Keep aside.
  4. Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil the same pan over medium flame. Add finely chopped onion and stir fry for 1-2 minutes. Add spinach puree and salt. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add little water. mix well and bring it toa boil. Stir occasionally in between. When gravy starts to boil, add shallow fried paneer cubes and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add kasuri methi and mix well. Turn off the flame and mix cream.
  6. Transfer to a bowl. Serve
