Sweet Corn Tikki

Ingredients to make Sweet Corn Tikki

  • Sweetcorn 1 cup(boiled)
  • potato 3 (boiled ,peeled and grated)
  • Fresh bread slices 4(minced or crumbled in mixer)
  • onions 2 minced
  • garlic 4 cloves minced
  • Green chilli 2 chopped
  • ginger 1\2" grated
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1\2 tsp
  • haldi powder 1\2 tsp(optional)
  • coriander leaves 4 tbsp(finely chopped)
  • lemon juice 1&1\2 tsp(optional)
  • cornflour 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil for shallow frying

How to make Sweet Corn Tikki

  1. In a mixer,add 3\4 cup of boiled corn,onion cubes,garlic,green chilli and grind coarsely.(keep aside 1\4 cup of corn for later use)
  2. Transfer into a big bowl, add grated potatoes,1\4 cup whole corn pearls, crumbled bread, salt, black pepper powder,garam masala, grated ginger, lemon juice, coriander leaves and salt.
  3. Mix well and bind together. Grease palm with oil and make round shaped flat tikki and coat the tikki by rolling on cornflour or suji and keep on a plate. Make all the tikkis in the same way.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick shallow pan on high flame(because all ingredients are already cooked). Place the tikkis batch wise in the pan and shallow fry until turn golden brown both sides.
  5. Transfer to a serving plate, decorate and serve hot with hot and sweet ketchup or any other chutney.

My Tip:

Flip and cook tikkis on both the sides. Keep enough space between the tikkis. To make the tikkis crispier deep fry them instead of shallow frying by adding more oil in the pan
