One of my all time hit cakes with my friends and family alike. I hit upon this idea very casually one fine day when there were so many fruits at my disposal. Fruity magic at it's best.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. All purpose flour 1 1/2 cups
  2. eggs 3
  3. Canola oil 1/4 th cup
  4. Baking powder a tsp
  5. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  6. Vanilla Essence 2 Tsp
  7. sugar 1 cup
  8. buttermilk 3/4 th cup
  9. Apples, pears, oranges, plums and pineapple slices as desired


  1. Whisk the eggs well. Add the sugar,vanilla essence and the oil and give all a good mix.
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients and sieve them twice.
  3. Now fold in these dry ingredients in the wet mix little by little adding buttermilk at intervals.
  4. Use all the flour in this way and also the buttermilk.
  5. When you start making the preparations for this cake, preheat your oven on 180° for 40 mins. Out of these 40 mins, 10 mins will be the preheating time.
  6. Arrange all the fruit slices on the greased baking pan.
  7. Tap the batter once and pour it the pan on top of the fruit slices and pop it in the oven.
  8. After 25 to 30 mins, the cake should be ready. Let it cool down a bit and then unmould it to enjoy that fruity goodness in all it's splendour.
