Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup besan
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 2-3 elaichi (powder)
  5. Few saffron strands
  6. 1 tsp lemon water
  7. 1tbsp melon seeds
  8. Ghee for frying
  9. Chopped pistachios
  10. orange food color (optional)
  11. water to make the batter

Instructions

  1. Make a thin batter by adding water into besan. Remove all the lumps and mix well. Add orange food color if desired.
  2. Heat ghee in a kadai and through a boondi strainer, start dropping the batter little at a time.Fry till done. Repeat till you fry the whole batter. Let it cool.
  3. For the chasni, put the sugar and water in a pan and mix well. Add lemon water, saffron strands and elaichi powder. Make a one string consistency chasni.
  4. Add the boondi into the chasni and mix well. Add the melon seeds and pistachios. Let it cool a little. The boondi will absorb the chasni.
  5. Shape them into small balls and serve!
