ABOUT Mango Sandesh RECIPE

Sweet little mangoes of chhena.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Milk (to make chhena) 1 litre
  2. Mango puree 2 cups
  3. sugar 1 cup
  4. Kesar or Yellow colour few drops
  5. Cloves 10
  6. lemon juice or white vinegar 2-3 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take 1 litre of milk and boil it. Add lemon juice or vinegar to curdle it. Remove from the flame and sieve in a muslin cloth. Wash with running water and hang for about 2 hours. Take out and mash it properly with hands nicely or blend in a mixer.
  2. Take 2 cups of mango puree and cook in a pan till it becomes thick.
  3. Add chhena to the thickened mango puree and add sugar according to the taste. Add kesar dissolved in warm milk or little bit of yellow colour.
  4. Cook till it loses all its water and becomes thick ball like . Transfer to a thali and again mash or blend in a mixer. Make sandesh in any desired shape .
  5. Make any shape in a mould or by hand while it is still warm. yummy sweet sandesh are ready. You may shape them like mango and place a clove to show stem
