Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 big apple cored and cut in thin horizontal slices
  2. 1tsp Lemon juice
  3. 1 puff pastry thawed
  4. 4-5tbsp apricot preserve or any other preserve or crush available

Instructions

  1. Put the apple slices in a bowl of water and lemon juice and microwave for 2 mins. Remove from the water and spread it on a towel to dry out the water. This would make the apples soft and pliable.
  2. Mix around 1tbsp of water in the preserve and mix it. It should be thin enough to spread.
  3. Preheat oven at 170 C
  4. Take the puff pastry and spread it out to thin sheet. Cut it in 1 1/2 inch strips.
  5. Take a strip and apply the preserve in between.
  6. Start layering the apple slices horizontally 1/2 inch above the strip, on long edge of the strip overlapping each other, with curved edge of apple slices exposed outside the strip.
  7. Fold bottom 1/2 inch of strip over the apple slices to form a long "folder" of strip with curved edges of apple slices exposed.
  8. Starting from one end, roll the strip tightly to form a rose shaped pastry. Seal roll with the end of puff pastry strip.
  9. Place it in silicon mould and bake in a preheated oven at 170 C for 35-40mins till the puff pastry is light brown in color.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and serve it by itself or with icecream.
