Mandarin / Kinnow Delight

Ingredients to make Mandarin / Kinnow Delight

  • Kinnow 10
  • Juice of 5 kinnows
  • curd 200 gms
  • Tropolite /Rich cream 250 gms
  • sugar 100 gms
  • gelatin 2 spoons
  • To make top layer- juice of 5 kinnows
  • Arrowroot 1 1/2 tbsp
  • sugar 125 gms
  • 1 Pinch of orange food colour

How to make Mandarin / Kinnow Delight

  1. Take Curd and hang it for about 4 hrs to make hung Curd in advance.
  2. Take all ten kinnows and cut each one from head side to make it like a cup( as seen in picture)
  3. Prepare gelatin by adding luke warm water to it. Mix till it dissolves completely.
  4. Remove complete pulp and juice with the help of spoon
  5. Be careful that the shell of kinnow remains intact.
  6. strain the pulp and keep juice aside.
  7. Divide this juice in two equal portions.
  8. To make bottom layer, Take Tropolite cream beat it with hand blender
  9. Add hung Curd and again beat it and mix them well. keep aside
  10. Now take half of juice and add sugar
  11. boil it till sugar melts.
  12. Keep aside for cooling.
  13. Once this juice mix is cool add this into cream & Curd mixture and mix well.
  14. Now mix gelatin well with cream, curd, and juice mixture.
  15. To make top layer, Take juice of 5 kinnows
  16. add 125 gms of sugar and 1 pinch of orange colour and warm it till sugar dissolves.
  17. Add Arrowroot diluted in water
  18. stir till the mixture thickens. let it cool
  19. To assemble, Take Kinnow shells and fill them with this mixture
  20. keep in the fridge for 2 hrs to set
  21. Now take out kinnows from the fridge
  22. slowly spread top layer (orange) mixture over each Kinnow
  23. and again set it in a fridge for about 2 hrs
  24. Garnish it with mint leaves coated with chocolate or just like that.

My Tip:

When this dessert is served in kinnow shells it imparts great flavours. If you wish you can serve in shot glasses also to control the portion.
