Mixed Flour Rotis

Ingredients to make Mixed Flour Rotis

  • Ragi flour 100 gm
  • Bajra flour 100 gm
  • Wholewheat flour 100 gm
  • Jowar flour 100 gms
  • Grated carrot 1 medium
  • Semi boiled potato grated 1
  • Boiled and crushed peas 1/2 cup
  • Large onion cut in large pieces 1
  • green chillies 3-4
  • Kadipatta (curry leaves) 1 handful
  • jeera ( cumin seeds) 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Dhania ( coriander leaves) 1handful
  • curd 1-2 tbsp
  • oil for pan frying
  • banana leaf for patting the dough

How to make Mixed Flour Rotis

  1. Grind the onion, chillies, jeera and kadipatta coarsely. As the dhania and run the mixer for a short burst.
  2. Mix all the flours, salt and curd. Mix well.
  3. Add the ground masala, grated vegetables and knead with warm water into a soft dough.
  4. Apply oil on the banana leaf.
  5. Place a ball of the dough and press into a roti.
  6. Heat a tava. Put the banana leaf, dough side down on the hot tava. Remove the leaf and pour a tsp oil around the roti and cook with lid.
  7. Turn over and cook the other side.
  8. Serve hot with sauce or raita or chutney, as preferred

My Tip:

A handful of oats will make the rotis softer. These rotis should be of stuffed paratha thickness.
