ABOUT Kulkuls RECIPE

A must have Christmas goodie in every Goan household.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 250 gms refined flour
  2. 1 1/2 tbs ghee
  3. 150 gms sugar
  4. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the ghee and add it to the refined flour.
  2. Mix the salt in water and make a soft dough with this water.
  3. Take a peas sized ball of dough and spread it on the reverse side of a fork. Press firmly.
  4. Roll it off the fork curling it. Take care to keep the indentations made by the fork intact.
  5. Deep fry till golden brown and drain.
  6. Make a sugar syrup of 1 string consistency with sugar and 1 cup water.
  7. Dip the kulkuls in the sugar syrup and spread out to dry.
  8. Once dry, store in an airtight container.
