ABOUT Rose Cookies RECIPE

Rose cookies are a traditional sweet delicacy made during Christmas.They are deep fried sweet pastries made with the help of a designed cast iron mould.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Oil -2 cups (for deep frying) and 1/2 cup oil
  2. 250 grams sifted refined flour
  3. 175 grams rice flour
  4. 125 ml coconut milk
  5. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  6. 125 grams sugar
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 1 pinch of salt
  9. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  10. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Take 2 deep frying pans, one with 2 cups of oil and the other 1/2 cup of oil
  2. Place both the pans on high heat.
  3. Immerse the rose cookie mould in the second pan with 1/2 cup oil of hot oil
  4. Now combine sifted flour, salt, powdered sugar and eggs
  5. Add coconut milk in little quantity and whisk the batter nicely
  6. The batter should be of pouring consistency
  7. Add cardamom powder, vanilla essence and baking soda
  8. Now remove the Immersed iron mould from hot oil and dip halfway in the batter and fry in hot oil on medium heat.
  9. Now shake the mould gently and the cookie will slide away
  10. Fry until crisp and light brown from both sides on medium heat
  11. Repeat the same with the rest of the batter
  12. Place the cookies on absorbent napkin and allow them to cook
  13. Store into an air tight container.
