ABOUT Oats Masala Dosa RECIPE

Instant Dosa made with powdered oats and urad dal with mashed potato masala filling. Ideal for weight management and healthy as well.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Oats 1 cup
  2. Urad dal 1/4 cup
  3. Water 1 and 1/2 cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. For masala filling:
  6. 2 Potatoes (peeled, boiled and mashed roughly)
  7. Onion 1 small chopped
  8. Green chilly 1 chopped
  9. 5-6 Curry leaves
  10. Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  11. Chilly powder 1/4 tsp
  12. Sambar powder 1/2 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Oil few drops

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the oats in a pan for 2-3 minutes. Let it cool down and powder it in a grinder. Keep it aside.
  2. Take the urad dal and grind it to powder. Keep aside.
  3. Take the powdered oats and powdered urad dal in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add Salt and water to it and make a smooth thin pouring consistency batter. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat few drops of oil. Add the mustard seeds and let it crackle.
  6. Add the onion, green chilly, curry leaves and saute them on low heat till the onion turns soft.
  7. Add salt, red chilly powder, sambar powder and mashed potatoes. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Heat a non-stick pan on low flame. Pour a ladle full of batter on the pan and spread the batter from centre to the sides to get a round shape. Cook till the edges turn brown.
  9. Now add some filling in the centre and fold over. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Serve with any chutney of your choice.
