Moong Dal Halwa

Ingredients to make Moong Dal Halwa

  • 2 1/2 cups - Soaked moong dal (Yellow)
  • 1 1/2 cup - ghee
  • 3 cup - Milk
  • 1 or 3/4 cup - sugar (as per ones taste)
  • 1/4 cup - water
  • 1 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder/Elaichi powder

How to make Moong Dal Halwa

  1. In a mixer, grind the dal to coarse paste by using as little water as required.
  2. Remove the contents of jar into a bowl and on medium low heat, in non-stick pan heat ghee. Add above made moong dal mix and stir till ghee is combined.
  3. Cook this mixture in medium low heat by stirring frequently to avoid sticking at bottom of the pan.
  4. In another pan heat milk along with sugar and cardamom until sugar is dissolved.
  5. If ghee starts to float on top and mixture starts to brown, add above milk-sugar mixture and stir.
  6. Cook by stirring until milk is completely absorbed in the halwa. Leave this cook till light brown or till done.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature with lots of love.
