ABOUT Bitter Gourd Salad RECIPE

Bitter gourd is a low-calorie vegetable. We can use it in low carb diet plan. Here is a simple recipe using bitter gourd.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bitter gourd - 1 large
  2. Finely chopped onion - 1/4 cup
  3. Tomato - 1 (Deseeded and finely chopped)
  4. Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  5. Oil - 1 tsp
  6. Red chili powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
  7. Finely chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the bitter gourd in half lengthwise and scoop out all the seeds and spongy stuff. Chop into small pieces.
  2. In a bowl add the chopped bitter gourd and salt, mix and keep it aside for 5 minutes to remove the bitter taste from it. Then squeeze out the excess water from it.
  3. Heat the non-stick kadhai add 1 tsp oil, bitter gourd, salt and red chili powder. Fry it on medium flame until it turns crispy.
  4. In a bowl add fried bitter gourd, chopped onion, chopped tomato, lemon juice, coriander leaves and salt. Mix and serve it immediately.

Dear Menaga will this bitter gourd be too bitter? how do I lessen the bitterness for this salad
