ABOUT Red Velvet Dhokla RECIPE

Such a beautiful makeover to the regular dhokla, feather light, full of flavours and all natural colour done in just a few minutes in microwave is a great option for your quick snack on kitty parties or evening snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Gram flour 1 cup
  2. Ginger 1 Teaspoon
  3. Green Chilli 1 teaspoon
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Beetroot purée 1/3 cup
  7. Water 1/2 cup
  8. Curd 1/2 cup
  9. oil 2 teaspoons
  10. sugar 1 teaspoon
  11. ENO 1 pouch (5gms)
  12. Hung Curd 1 cup for icing

Instructions

  1. Mix together gram flour, ginger, chilli paste, salt, turmeric powder, curd, sugar until blended well.
  2. Now add in beetroot purée and water and mix well.
  3. Keep a greased glass bowl ready for the batter.
  4. Next add in eno and mix gently.
  5. Now pour this batter quickly in the prepared dish.
  6. Microwave it for 2-3 minutes, do a skewer test to ensure dhokla doesn't stick to the skewer.
  7. If it does, microwave it for 30 seconds more and your red velvety, feather light dhokla is ready.
