A delicious and tangy home made candy that can be served as post lunch mouth freshners.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Amla-20-25
  2. Sugar- 1bowl
  3. water to boiling
  4. Powder sugar-


  1. Clean the amlas and boil them in some hot water.
  2. Once the amlas are boiled for 5-10 minutes, check if the amla is easily opening, if so then it means that this is ready to turn them into candies.
  3. Strain the amlas and do not discard the extra water, add sugar to the cooked amlas, cover the container with a lid and leave it aside for 3 days.
  4. On the 4th day, strain the amlas from the concoction that was made, do not discard the syrup, you can just add some honey to it and consume later.
  5. Spread the wet amlas onto a tray. keep them in the sunlight for 2-3 days or until they are dried up completely.
  6. Once the amlas are completely dried up, add the powdered sugar as required. Store the candies in an air tight container.
